We kicked off the 2021 #LordOfTheWings challenge at aura’s bar and Grill and it was a strong start. I frequent Laura’s often for their Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla and have had the wings about half a dozen times or so before, but this time I mixed a couple flavors up so the review would be a fresh experience.
The 4 flavors Aaron and I ordered were: Chick-N-Dip, Golden Boy, Kickin’ Bourbon & Mango Habanero. Quick recap of each flavor:
Chic-N-Dip – First time trying, the waitress mentioned this was the Chic-Fil-A imitation sauce but for obvious reasons can’t use the name in their sauce. Aaron and I agreed the sauce tasetd like you were eating a whole McDonalds Double Cheeseburger. McD’s meat hardly has a meat taste, so if you envision the flavor of the ketchup, mustard, pickle and bun in one mouthful, throw it on a wing, you have Chick-N-Dip – bravo whoever created that sauce. You crushedddd it.
Golden Boy – I do not like honey mustard. This is a honey and honey mustard blended sauce. It’s flat out delicious. The mustard flavor pulls through in a kicky flavor way but is not overwhelming at all. Add this to your list to try next time you’re in.
Kickin’ Bourbon – Zingy, sweet, sticky, delicious. That’s all.
Mango Habanero – Another strong flavor profile from the kitchen. The mango and habanero flavor was very well baalnced, you easily got the mango flavor and didn’t clear your sinuses after eating a few (although I do enjoy that about other strong mango habanero sauces). It made eating the wings with all the other flavors we had enjoyable together.
